Overview
Zushi is a small coastal city in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, offering a quieter alternative to nearby Kamakura with similar temple scenery and beach access. Located about an hour south of Tokyo by train, it attracts visitors for its beach, marina, and summer events while remaining relatively uncrowded compared to more famous destinations.

Activities
Zushi Beach offers swimming in summer and windsurfing year-round. The bay is shallow and calm, ideal for kayaking and boating.
Culture
Zushi features historic temples including Ganden-ji (721 CE) and Jinmuji Temple (724 CE), part of the Bandō 33 Temple Pilgrimage.
Food
Local seafood, Italian restaurants, and natural food eateries cluster near Zushi station. Lunch sets at Italian restaurants are notably cheaper than dinner.
Transport
Zushi is reachable from Tokyo in about an hour via Yokosuka line (60-65 min), Keihin Kyuko line (47 min from Shinagawa), or Shonan Shinjuku line (59 min from Shinjuku). Note that only some Shonan Shinjuku line trains stop at Zushi.
Weather
Peak beach season runs late June through August. The off-season offers pleasant weather for windsurfing, hiking, and temple visits with fewer crowds.
