Wakura Onsen is a traditional Japanese hot spring resort. Remove shoes before entering ryokan, and observe onsen etiquette (wash before bathing, no swimsuits in sentō).

Hot spring water here contains sodium and calcium, reaching 90°C from the ground. Foot onsen are free and open year-round.
Money
Japan uses Japanese Yen (JPY). ATMs at convenience stores accept foreign cards. Most ryokan prefer cash or credit card.
Transport
Wakura Onsen Station on the Nanao Line connects the resort to Nanao city. Bike rental available from tourism office for ¥800/day.
