Overview
Pisco is a medium-sized fishing town on Peru's Southern Coast, located just south of Lima. While the town itself has little to offer tourists, it serves as the primary launchpad for trips to the Ballestas Islands and the Paracas national reserve.

Activities
Ballestas Islands boat trips see sea lions and the Candelabra geoglyph. Paracas reserve tours can be added for a small extra fee.

Sample Pisco (the national spirit named after this town) and Pisco sour cocktails. Basic Peruvian cuisine available near the Plaza de Armas and waterfront.
Safety
Stay within the 2-block tourist-safe zone around Plaza de Armas. Watch bags in market areas and near the beach. Tuk tuks recommended for travel through sketchier parts of town.
Transport
Pisco is accessed by road from Lima. Within town, tuk tuks provide the safest and cheapest way to navigate areas outside the Plaza de Armas tourist zone.
