Overview
Maragogi is a quiet beach town in Alagoas state, roughly halfway between Maceió and Recife. Its main draw is the natural pools (piscinas naturais) about 6 km offshore, where visitors wade among reef formations in crystalline turquoise water filled with tropical fish.

Activities
Natural pool tours require low tide (around 0.4m) for best visibility. Book through local operators at the beach; tours last about 2 hours.
Money
Bradesco bank in town provides ATM services. Bring extra cash for smaller establishments and beach vendors.
Transport
Vans run every 5-15 minutes from the Terminal Rodoviario to nearby beaches; flag them down anywhere on the road outside town. Last van back from Peroba departs at 17:30.
Weather
Best visited May-August when water is clearest and tides are most predictable for natural pool tours. December-February is high season with higher prices.
