Surfing and bodyboarding are popular at Praia do Frances (Frenchman's Beach) with safe waves and no sharks or dangerous reefs. Snorkeling is possible at Ponta Verde beach during low tide; bring your own snorkel as rentals are usually unavailable. Watch the sunset from Avenida da Paz.
