Khanom is a small, quiet fishing town with lovely beaches practically deserted of tourists, making it a refreshing alternative to busier Gulf Coast destinations. Located along the Central Gulf Coast in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, it offers a little bit off the beaten path while still being fairly easy to get to.

Budget accommodation starts around 500 baht per night. Nai Plao Beach area has the most hotel and restaurant options.
Activities
Beaches are practically deserted. Natural fish spas cost about 20 baht. Caves, waterfalls, and viewpoints are free or low-cost attractions.
Food
Dried stingray (ปลาวง) is the local specialty. Beachside seafood restaurants and a Wednesday morning market offer the best local food experiences.
Transport
Motorbike is the best way to get around Khanom due to very little traffic. Rentals available on Nadan Beach Road from about 08:00-22:00.
