Overview
Hwaseong blends the convenience of Seoul's satellite new towns—Dongtan—with genuine rural coastlines and historical sites rarely seen by foreign visitors. Jebudo Island offers 1.8 km of white sand beach, while the Yung-Geonleung royal tombs of Crown Prince Sado and King Jeongjo provide quiet Joseon-era history away from the tourist crowds of Gyeonggi.
