Overview
Hagi is one of Japan's most beautiful castle towns, with many old streets and residences that have survived untouched in this town of 50,000 people (2016). It was the political center of the Choshu Domain for over 250 years and birthplace of many Meiji statesmen.

Transport
The city center is walkable; Hagi-Ōkan is a historic trail connecting Hagi and Yamaguchi City.
