Getting In

Gwangmyeong is accessible via KTX high-speed rail at Gwangmyeong Station in Soha 2-dong. Seoul Metro Line 1 serves Gwangmyeong Station and Doksan Station, while Line 7 serves Cheolsan Station in Cheolsan 3-dong. The city borders Seoul's Geumcheon-gu and Guro-gu to the north, with nearby cities including Bucheon to the west, Anyang to the east, and Siheung to the south.

Getting Around

Gwangmyeong is served by Seoul Metro Line 1 (Gwangmyeong Station, Doksan Station) and Line 7 (Cheolsan Station). Bus route 23 provides access to Gureumsan Mountain from Gwangmyeong City Hall. The downtown area centers around Cheolsan Station with commercial districts also developing in Soha1-dong.

Gwangmyeong experiences a continental climate similar to Seoul with cold, dry winters and hot, humid summers. The Gwangmyeong Wine Festival held at Gwangmyeong Cave showcases Korean wine culture with various programs. The Gureum-san Art Festival celebrates the mountain featured in local civic symbols. Things To Do

Gwangmyeong Cave (광명동굴) at 142 Gahak-ro is a historic tunnel developed in 1912 during Japanese colonial rule, now open to visitors at ₩6,000 for adults. The Ki Hyeong-do Literature Museum honors the poet Gi-hyeon Do with free admission. The Chunghyeon Museum displays artifacts related to Joseon Dynasty scholar Lee Won-ik (₩3,500 for adults). Natural attractions include Gureum Mountain (237m), the highest peak in Gwangmyeong-si also known as Abangsan Mountain.
