Overview
Goyang is a planned residential satellite city built in the 1990s to relieve Seoul's overpopulation, now home to over 1 million residents. The city splits into two main areas: Ilsan, with its lakeside parks, shopping complexes, and dining streets; and Deogyang, centered around historic Haengju Sanseong fortress and the KINTEX exhibition center.
