Connectivity
Electric plugs are available in the empty shop areas opposite the bus counters at the Peruvian bus terminal. WiFi availability is not documented—bring a power bank for charging devices during waits.
Money
Currency exchanges operate on both sides of the border—you can buy either Bolivianos or Soles here. Bring small denominations for border fees and tips. ATMs are not mentioned; exchange currency before arriving or bring enough cash for the crossing.
Transport
Shared vans from La Paz (Bolivia side) cost Bs. 15 per person and take about 1 hour to El Alto or 2 hours to downtown. On the Peruvian side, buses to Puno cost s/25 by shared van (2 hours) or s/25-s/40 by scheduled bus (3 hours).
Weather
Lake Titicaca can be windy and chilly even under the sun. The jetty near the bus terminal is exposed; bring a warm layer regardless of season.
