Overview
Chucuito is a small, quiet town on the western shore of Lake Titicaca south of Puno, best known for the 16th-century Inca Uyo (Temple of Fertility). The town offers sweeping lake views, a relaxed atmosphere, and access to a scenic viewpoint with a large white cross on the cliff above the village.

Local currency is the Peruvian sol (PEN). ATMs are not available in Chucuito; withdraw cash in Puno before visiting.
Packing
Bring sun protection and layers—days can be warm but nights are cold at altitude (3,800m).
Transport
Collectivos from Puno cost S/1.5 and depart when full. Vans to Puno also depart from the main square at the same fare.
