Overview
Yeongdeok County is a small coastal county of 35,000 residents in North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. It is world-famous for its snow crabs (called Yeongdeok crab), with Gangguhang Port serving as the main distribution center.

Festivals
Snow Crab Festival held December 22-25 annually. Golden Fish Festival in late July. Sunrise events at Samsa Marine Park on December 31 and January 1.
Food
Yeongdeok is famous for snow crabs available November-May. Main crab market at Gangguhang Port open daily 09:00-21:00. The 3-km Daegegeori crab restaurant street features steaming crab cauldrons.
Transport
Intercity buses from Seoul take about 5 hours (₩40,000). Train access via East Sea Line to Yeongdeok Station. Local buses are infrequent with long wait times.

Mild climate with summer highs of 38°C and winter lows of -13.8°C. Southeast winds in spring, northwest winds in winter. Long autumn, short spring.
