Why go?

Villarrica is a town of 50,000 people in Chile's Araucanía region with strong German and Dutch heritage dating from 1850 European immigration, reflected in its wooden houses and family surnames. The area serves as a gateway to Volcano Villarrica, two national parks, and numerous hot springs fed by volcanic activity. Tourism combines with grain, dairy farming, and forestry as the main economic activities, creating a authentic Chilean town with adventure opportunities.
