Why Go
Villa la Angostura is a small Patagonian town set on the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi, serving as a gateway to Los Arrayanes National Park and Nahuel Huapi National Park. The town offers access to dense forests of arrayan trees (some 300 years old), mountain peaks for rock climbing, and alpine-like scenery without the larger crowds of nearby Bariloche. In summer the landscape is verdant and green; in winter the surrounding mountains are blanketed in snow, creating a completely different atmosphere for visitors.

When to Go
The town experiences an alpine-like climate with cold weather and snow from May through September, making it ideal for skiing at Cerro Bayo. Warm, sunny days prevail from November through March, perfect for trekking and lake activities, though nights remain cool even in summer. Most precipitation falls as snow during winter months, but rain can occur anytime, with occasional steady rains lasting several days.
