Overview

Toubkal National Park is Morocco's premier mountain destination, centered on Jbel Toubkal at 4167m—the highest peak in North Africa and the Arab world. Unlike many mountains of comparable height, Toubkal is significantly easier to climb on well-marked trails, making it accessible to determined backpackers with basic fitness.

Before you go

Connectivity

Mobile coverage is limited or absent in the park. Inform others of your plans before entering. WiFi and phones available at guesthouses in Imlil village.

Money

Moroccan dirham (MAD) is the local currency. ATMs available in Marrakech before your trip. Carry enough cash for the trek as there are no ATMs in Imlil or the refuge.
