Overview
Langtang National Park is Nepal's first Himalayan national park, established in 1976, spanning 1,710 km² of the Central Himalayas just 32 km from Kathmandu Valley. It offers three main trekking routes through vegetation ranging from tropical forests below 1,000m altitude to alpine scrub and perennial ice, with the highest peak Langtang Lirung at 7,245m.

Connectivity
Limited connectivity—telephone facilities only at Singh Gompa and major Helambu settlements. Remote areas have no service. Plan for disconnection during multi-day treks.
Health
No medical facilities in most of the park. Carry an extensive first aid pack. Altitude sickness risk above 3,000m. Dehydration is common. Telephone facilities only at Singh Gompa and Helambu settlements.
Money
Local currency is Nepalese Rupee (NPR). Budget guesthouses in Tatopani range Rs. 800–1,200/night. Budget for cash—many remote lodges and villages are cash-only.
Transport
Park is 32 km from Kathmandu Valley. Tatopani is the main access point for treks. Kodari crossing to China leads to Dram and Zhangmu via Friendship Bridge.
Weather
Relatively dry climate with snow in January–February. Monsoon season June–August brings heavy rainfall. Autumn (September–November) is the best time to visit with clear skies and stable trails.
