Overview
Ichinomiya (一宮市) is a city of 380,000 people in Aichi prefecture, Japan. After a 2005 merger with Bisai and Kisogawa, it became the prefecture's 4th largest city.

Tanabata Matsuri (late July) attracts 1.3 million visitors; reserve accommodation early. Bisai fireworks festival in August features 5,000 fireworks.

Japan uses Japanese Yen (JPY). Credit cards accepted at larger hotels and restaurants, but cash preferred at smaller shops and shrines.
Shopping
Ichinomiya is famous for woolen textiles and yarn. Ishii Shoten near Masumida Shrine stocks Eisaku Noro yarns.
Transport
JR Tokaido line connects Nagoya to Owari-Ichinomiya in 9 minutes for ¥290. The Meitetsu Nagoya and Bisai lines also serve the city.
