Overview
Goiana is a historic colonial city in Pernambuco's Zona da Mata region, approximately 65 km north of Recife. The city preserves 16th-century architecture including the Our Lady of Blackmen Rosary Church built in 1596, alongside pristine beaches at Ponta de Pedras where two historic shipwrecks from the 1880s attract scuba divers.
