Felipe Carrillo Puerto is a small traditionally Mayan town that serves as the working-class backbone of the Mayan Riviera resort economy. Often called 'Puerto' by locals, it offers budget travelers an authentic alternative to the expensive international resorts further north.

Transport
The town is walkable and bikes can be rented behind Holy Cross Church. Taxis are plentiful and affordable. Combis run to Tulum, Playa del Carmen, and Chetumal from designated sitios.
