Overview

Ang Thong National Marine Park is a breathtaking archipelago of 42 limestone islands rising from the Gulf of Thailand. The park offers world-class snorkeling, hidden beaches, dramatic viewpoints like the Emerald Lagoon on Ko Mae Ko, and the iconic 430m climb on Wua Talap Island with panoramic views of the entire park.

Before you go

Connectivity

Limited connectivity expected on remote islands. Arrange any urgent communications before departing mainland or your accommodation island.

Money

Park entrance fee: 300 baht foreigners, 100 baht children under 12. Food at headquarters: 60-120 baht per meal. Kayak rental: 200 baht. All major expenses paid via tour operators in advance.

Packing

Bring water, hat, sunscreen, and cover-up clothing for snorkelling. Wear sturdy shoes for the Emerald Lake climb. The island has minimal shade so sun protection is essential.

Transport

Tours depart from Ko Samui, Ko Pha Ngan, and Ko Tao. Speedboat tours (max 25 people) are more intimate than large ferry boats (40-50 people). Private charters available for 15,000 baht (up to 10 people).
