Overview
Yoichi offers three compelling reasons to visit: world-renowned Nikka whisky distilled since 1934 using traditional Scottish methods, two Olympic ski jumping gold medalists commemorated at the town station, and Japan's designated Special District for Wine since 2011 with over 20 wineries producing award-winning Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The town provides a refreshing counterpoint to urban Sapporo, combining industrial heritage with rural vineyard landscapes.
