Overview
Wisła is a year-round mountain resort in the Silesian Beskids, 90 km south of Katowice. It developed from a tiny farming village in the 19th century and grew into Poland's premier winter sports destination.

Culture
Wisła is predominantly Lutheran, unusual for Poland. The area was historically part of Bohemia/Austria-Hungary before joining Poland in 1920.

Standard European emergency numbers apply. The nearest hospital is in Bielsko-Biała. Local pharmacies are available in the village.
Transport
Wisła is accessed by train from Katowice to Wisła Uzdrowisko, or by bus from Cieszyn. You will need a car or taxi to explore the valley's length.
Weather
Best visited December-March for skiing and winter sports, or June-September for hiking and mountain activities on the Main Beskid Trail.
