Overview
Szczyrk is a winter sports resort in the Silesian Voivodeship of southern Poland, sitting at 500-600 m elevation in the Beskids mountains. The highest local peak is Skrzyczne at 1257 m, with ski lifts ascending toward the ridge at 1200 m.

Accommodation
Book well in advance for ski season. B&B doubles range 250-600 zł. Mercure Szczyrk Resort opens September 2024.
Connectivity
4G available from all Polish carriers as of July 2024. 5G not yet available. Patchy signal on approach roads.
Food
Over a dozen pubs and restaurants serve traditional local food. Żabka open until 22:00; Biedronka closed Sundays.
Transport
Take hourly regional trains from Katowice to Bielsko-Biała (70 min), then Bus 120 to Szczyrk (40 min). Ski buses are free with lift pass.
