Overview
Turgutreis is a sprawling resort on Turkey's Southern Aegean coast, named for the Ottoman admiral Turgut Reis (1485-1565), born in the nearby village of Karatoprak (renamed Turgutreis in his honor in 1972). The town is the largest of the resorts clustered around Bodrum, offering sandy beaches, windsurfing conditions, and easy access to Greek islands visible on the horizon.
