Overview
Sanjiang (三江; Sānjiāng) means 'three rivers' and is a Dong Autonomous County in North Guangxi, China, named after the Rong River, Xun River, and Miao River. The county was established during the Song Dynasty around 1105 CE and became an autonomous prefecture in 1955.

Culture
Dong ethnic minority makes up 54% of the county's population. Traditional culture is best experienced at Chengyang Village and the Dong People's Eco-Museum.
Food
Tangyuan (glutinous rice balls) is the local specialty. Moria Cafe near the drum tower serves Western food including real coffee.
Language
Dong language is spoken alongside Mandarin Chinese. Signs may include Dong characters. English is rarely spoken outside major attractions.

Standard Chinese banking services apply. ATMs available in town center. Carry cash for smaller establishments and rural areas.
Transport
Sanjiang railway station is 10km from town center; take taxi or minibus. Guilin is 4.5 hours by bus, Longsheng 1.5 hours.
