Before you go
Accommodation
Casa particulares are the budget traveler's best option, with around two dozen available. Expect to pay 25-50 CUC per night for a private room with breakfast.
Connectivity
Internet access is limited and expensive in Cuba. ETECSA sells internet cards, but connectivity may be slow or unreliable outside major cities.
Money
Cuba operates a dual currency system (CUP and CUC). Credit cards issued by US banks are generally not accepted. Exchange currency at CADECA state exchange houses.
Transport
Public transport options are limited—rely on Viazul buses for inter-city travel and horse carts/bicycle-taxis for local movement. Trains are infrequent and may not run on schedule.
