Salina Cruz is primarily a working port city and transportation hub on Mexico's Pacific coast. Most visitors are either involved in the shipping business or passing through to reach nearby surfing beaches.

Hotels cluster along Avenida Tampico with options from M$600-1000. Upscale hotels include pools; surfing schools also offer rooms.
Activities
Surfing is the main draw from March through October. The Malecon offers free sunset views, and the Zocalo has Wednesday evening live music.
Connectivity
Uber operates in Salina Cruz, in addition to traditional taxi services. A taxi sitio is located near the Zocalo.
Food
Seafood restaurants line the beach areas. Budget M$150-250 per meal at listed restaurants. Traditional Mexican and Oaxacan regional dishes are widely available.
Transport
Salina Cruz has two bus terminals: the modern ADO terminal for long-distance coaches and a smaller Sur terminal with frequent local departures. A railway station connects to Coatzacoalcos across the isthmus.
