Overview
Pyay is an ancient city dating back to 638 CE that serves as a gateway to the UNESCO-listed ruins of Sri Kshetra, the old Pyu capital. Unlike Bagan's tourist crowds, Pyay offers giant Buddhist statues, riverside sunsets, and access to the Shwe Bontha Muni Pagoda in nearby Pa Daung.
