Overview
Magome (馬籠宿, Magome-juku) is the 43rd post town on the Nakasendo, one of Japan's five historic routes connecting Tokyo and Kyoto during the Edo Period. Beautifully restored with stone-paved walkways and traditional buildings, it offers one of the most atmospheric glimpses into feudal-era travel culture in the Kiso Valley.
