Koh Russei (Bamboo Island) is a small green island floating on emerald-blue waters about 10 km off the coast of Sihanoukville. The island offers a pure, unspoilt tropical experience far removed from the developing beach resorts on the mainland.

Four basic bungalow options with shared toilets, bucket showers, and no all-day electricity. Book through mainland offices or directly at the island.
Money
No ATMs exist on the island. Bring all necessary cash from Sihanoukville. Prices are quoted in USD, the primary currency used. Budget 50% more than mainland costs.
Packing
Bring water shoes for the coarse sand, shell bags, cash in small bills, drinking water, and insect repellent. No supplies available for purchase.
Transport
Private boats from Sunset Cafe (Occidental Beach) or Ream National Park cost approximately US$5. Book day trips through guesthouses on Serendipity Beach Road.
Water
No fresh running water on the island. DIY bucket showers only. Bring your own drinking water supply.
