Overview
Mount Hua (Huashan) is one of the Five Great Mountains of China and a sacred Taoist site. The 2,154-meter peak is infamous for its "most dangerous hiking trail in the world" reputation, featuring narrow plank walks nailed into cliff faces, near-vertical steps, and paths with no railings.

Money
Peak season entrance: ¥180; off-peak: ¥100. Communal guesthouse beds: ¥60-120. Cable car: ¥80 one-way. Safety harness rental: ¥30.
Packing
Bring flashlights with spare batteries, warm layers, and more water than you think needed. Tents and coats can be rented at the mountain if not prepared.

Transport

Mountain nights are very cold even in summer. Winter (December-February) brings lower fees but icy, hazardous paths. Check forecasts before night hikes.
