Overview
Donghae is a midsize port city on South Korea's east coast where rocky beaches, hiking valleys, and a 500-million-year-old cave sit within an hour of downtown. The city serves as the launch point for ferries to Ulleungdo island and offers a quieter coastal alternative to busier Gangwon destinations.
