Overview
Desierto de los Leones is the oldest national park in Mexico, established in 1876, and offers a rare escape into pine forest wilderness just an hour from central Mexico City. The park combines colonial history with outdoor recreation, centered around the ruins of a 17th-century Carmelite monastery.
