Overview

Fees
Entrance fee COP$13,500 for Colombians, COP$39,500 for foreigners. Daily visitor limits 30-60 depending on trail area.
Gear
Waterproof hiking boots essential for muddy trails. Bring warm layers, sun protection, and more water than you think you'll need.
Permit
Advance permits required at least 15 days before visiting. Obtain via email ecoturismo@parquesnacionales.gov.co or phone 3532400 (ext. 3011).
Safety
No services inside the park. No cell phone coverage. Be fully self-sufficient with food, water, first aid, and emergency supplies.
Transport
Three entrances: Piedras Gordas, Siecha, La Paila-Laguna de Chingaza. 4WD recommended for park roads. Open 8:00 AM-12:30 PM, exit by 4:00 PM.
Weather
Temperatures range 4-20°C by elevation. Dress in warm layers and bring rain gear—the páramo weather shifts without warning.
