Overview
Awaji Island marks the eastern boundary of the Seto Inland Sea, spanning roughly the same size as Singapore. While many visitors merely zip across via the dramatic Akashi Kaikyo Bridge on their way between Honshu and Shikoku, the island rewards those who linger with quiet beaches on the northern coast, natural hot springs, and its famous onions, fish and cheese.
