Boa Vista is the most easterly island of Cape Verde, lying 450 km west of Senegal in the Atlantic. It's arid with white sand dunes and good beaches, making it one of the principal tourist destinations of Cape Verde with direct flights from Europe.

The city offers colorful colonial architecture, the lively Praça Nova square, and serves as the main gateway to nearby Santo Antão island via ferry.

Santo Antão is the most northern and western island of Cape Verde, a dramatic volcanic landscape that surprises visitors who arrive expecting barren terrain. Within half an hour of the ferry port, steep winding roads climb into pine forests and skirt volcano edges, revealing a lush, green island unlike the other archipelago members.
