Overview
Yasugi is a small city in eastern Shimane Prefecture that rewards visitors with world-class art and gardens. The Adachi Museum of Art's 43,000 m² garden has been ranked Japan's best by the American Journal of Japanese Gardening for 10 consecutive years.

Culture
Yasugi is famous for yasugibushi, a comedic folk dance featuring the loach-scooping dance dojousukui. Performances are held weekends and holidays at the Yasugibushi Theater.
Money
Japan uses yen (¥). Most museums and attractions accept cash; the Hirose Kasuri Center and Wako Museum have small entry fees of ¥300-800.
Transport
Yasugi Station on the JR San'in Main Line is the main rail access point. Taxis are readily available, including a 24-hour company one block left of the station exit.
