Overview
Yankari Game Reserve is Nigeria's most popular tourist destination and one of West Africa's premier eco-destinations, offering wildlife viewing in the heartland of the West African savanna. The reserve spans about 2,244 km² and houses the largest surviving elephants in Nigeria, along with antelopes, lions, hyenas, leopards, and crocodiles.

Avoid displaying valuables, stay alert at night, use trusted guides, and keep distance during Fulani cattle migrations. Police reliability is questionable.

Hot year-round (57°F-100°F). Wet season May-October, dry season November-April. Best wildlife viewing during dry season.
