Overview
Xico is a Pueblo Mágico in the coffee heartland of Veracruz, recognized for its cultural and historic value. The town was established in 1313 AD and retains cobblestone streets lined with colonial-era houses, a 16th-century church with unusual indigenous-Marian carvings, and small restaurants serving spicy mole, handmade tortillas, and locally grown and roasted coffees.

Culture
Xico is a Pueblo Mágico with strong traditional identity. The annual La Xiqueñada festival in July/August is the biggest event, featuring tapetes de aserrín, folk dances, and a running of the bulls.
Language
Spanish is the local language. As a tourism-oriented Pueblo Mágico, some English may be encountered in hotels and restaurants, but basic Spanish is helpful.

Prices in Xico are quoted in Mexican pesos (M$). Budget approximately M$200 for meals at mid-range restaurants. Accommodation ranges from cheap rates at Hotel El Pedregal to boutique pricing at Las Magdalenas.
Transport
The nearest major bus hub is Xalapa, reachable from Puebla by ADO or AU buses. Within Xico, walking is sufficient for the compact center; taxis are needed for waterfalls and neighboring villages.
