Overview
Vicenza is a UNESCO-listed city in northeastern Italy, famous as the birthplace of Andrea Palladio whose villas and palaces dot both the city center and surrounding countryside. Unlike nearby Venice or Verona, Vicenza offers a more relaxed atmosphere with fewer tourists, excellent local cuisine rooted in cucina povera traditions, and easy access to the Colli Berici wine region with its excellent wineries and hidden restaurants.
