Tulcán is Ecuador's principal border crossing into Colombia, making it a necessary stop for overland travelers between the two countries. The city is famous worldwide for its extraordinary cemetery (Cementerio de Tulcán), which features what many consider the most elaborate topiary sculpture collection on the planet.
