Overview
Toucheng is a quiet coastal township in northern Yilan County, offering a slower pace than nearby Luodong or Jiaoxi. The area is known for its surfing beaches at Da-xi Honeymoon Bay, historic Qing-dynasty architecture along Heping Street, and access to Guishan Island offshore.

Money
Taiwan Dollar (NT$) is the local currency. Convenience stores and most restaurants accept cash and local cards. ATMs are available at post offices and banks.
Safety
Swim only at designated beaches. Watch for traffic on Highway No. 2, which can be busy with scooters. Coastal areas may have strong currents.
Transport
Rent bicycles or motorcycles from Jiaoxi Station (NT$300/24 hours) and ride Highway No. 2 to reach Toucheng. King Bus (國光客運) charges NT$23 from Jiaoxi to Toucheng.
Weather
Visit in spring or autumn for comfortable temperatures. Summer is hot and humid with heavy rainfall June–September. Typhoons may affect travel during the rainy season.
