Overview

Tlayacapan is one of Morelos's most scenic and culturally rich towns, designated as a Pueblo Magico for its colonial heritage and indigenous traditions. The town is famous as the birthplace of chinelos—a carnival tradition of masked dancers mocking European aristocracy that originated here in the mid-19th century and spread throughout Morelos.
