Why go?

Tiruchirappalli (Trichy) is an ancient South Indian city that served as capital to Chola and Naicka kings for centuries. The city is dominated by the Rockfort Temple, a massive 7th-century fortress and temple complex rising above the Cauvery River. It's a major transport hub with excellent train and bus connections, making it a convenient stop between Chennai and Madurai. The local Tamil accent is considered neutral compared to other Tamil cities, and the city offers authentic South Indian temple experiences without the tourist crowds of larger cities.
