Overview
Thamarassery is a taluk headquarters and major town in Kozhikode district, positioned 30 km east of Kozhikode on the foothills of Wayanad District. It serves as the primary jumping-off point for reaching hill towns like Koyilandy, Kalpetta, Mukkam, Nilambur, Koduvally, Thiruvambady, Balussery, and Kodencheri.

Weather
Best visited October-March (dry season). Monsoon (June-September) causes heavy rain and potential landslides on hill roads to Wayanad.
