Overview
Tecolutla is the closest beach destination to Mexico City, reachable in just four to five hours by car. The town sits at the northern end of the Emerald Coast tourist corridor along the Gulf of Mexico, offering wetlands with estuaries, canals, and mangroves that are home to exotic birds.

Best for swimming most of the year except during nortes (December-February) when cold fronts bring strong winds and rougher surf.
