Overview
Te Puke is a small rural town of 9,000 people in New Zealand's Bay of Plenty region, best known as the self-proclaimed 'Kiwifruit capital of the world.' The town sits on fertile volcanic soils with a warm climate, making it ideal for growing kiwifruit, citrus fruits, avocados, and supporting dairy farming. Many travelers pass through for seasonal kiwifruit work, while others use it as a quieter, cheaper base compared to nearby Tauranga or Rotorua.
