Overview
Taree is a practical stop along the Pacific Highway between Sydney and Brisbane, sitting on the Manning River about 18 km inland from the coast. The city is famous for its oysters, and while it lacks major tourist attractions, the nearby beach town of Old Bar offers sand, surf, and a sand sculpting competition each January.
