Overview
Takarazuka draws visitors primarily for two reasons: the world-famous all-female Takarazuka Revue theater and the Tezuka Osamu Manga Museum honoring the creator of Astro Boy. The city also offers hot spring bathing with a 700-year history.

Before you go
Culture
Takarazuka is a bedroom community with mostly domestic visitors; English signage is limited outside major attractions.
Language
Japanese is the primary language. The manga museum has mostly Japanese-only information. Some hotel staff speak basic English.
Money
Japan is largely cash-based outside major cities. Carry sufficient yen as many small shops and traditional hotels may not accept cards.
Timing
Many shops and restaurants near the theater close on Wednesdays when there are no performances. Plan accordingly.
Transport
Hankyu Takarazuka Station is the main hub; last trains depart around 01:00. JR Takedao Station serves the abandoned railway hike but has no ticket machine.
